Good questions
Before you download.
Are Chardie apps really free?
Every app is a free download. Boardalo has ten games that are free forever, and one payment of £4.99 unlocks all 42. Wordalo and Numalo give you free puzzles every day, with a one-time £4.99 unlock for everything. Arcadalo has three games free forever, three free runs of every other game, and a £2.99 unlock. AEIOU and Kammunicate are completely free, and Kilobyte, coming soon, will be free with four cameras. There are no subscriptions and no adverts in any of them.
Do the apps track me or collect my data?
No. None of the apps show adverts or use analytics or tracking, and there are no Chardie accounts to create. Your games, puzzles and messages stay on your device. Each app has its own plain-English privacy policy, linked at the bottom of every page.
What is an AAC app?
AAC stands for augmentative and alternative communication: tools for people who find speech hard. AEIOU is a communication keyboard you can tap, blink or scan to build a sentence and have it spoken aloud. Kammunicate turns an iPad into a shared space where two people build a conversation together.
Which devices do the apps run on?
Boardalo, Wordalo, Numalo, Arcadalo and AEIOU run on iPhone and iPad. Boardalo and Arcadalo also run on Mac and Apple TV. Kammunicate is made for iPad, and Kilobyte, coming soon, is made for iPhone.
Do the apps work offline?
Yes. Boardalo, Wordalo, Numalo, AEIOU and Kammunicate all work fully offline, with no connection and no account needed. Puzzles are generated on your device.
