Numalo is a daily number puzzle app for iPhone and iPad. If something is not working or you have a question, email contact@chardie.co.uk and you will get a reply from the person who made it, usually within a day or two.
The six puzzles
Sudoku
Fill the 9×9 grid so every row, every column and every 3×3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once.
Kakuro
The cross-sums puzzle: a crossword built from numbers. Fill each run of white squares with digits 1 to 9 so the run adds up to the clue in front of it. Digits never repeat inside a single run.
Binary
Fill the grid with 0s and 1s. No three of the same digit may sit together in a line, and every row and column ends up with an equal count of each.
Futoshiki
The inequality grid. Fill it so each row and column holds every number once, while respecting the < and > signs printed between the squares.
Hitori
Shade squares out until no number repeats in any row or column. Two shaded squares may never touch side by side, and the unshaded squares must all remain joined together.
Number Sequence
A short run of numbers with one term missing. Work out the rule and fill the gap. The rules are drawn from seven themes: arithmetic and geometric runs, the Fibonacci sequence, squares, cubes, primes and triangular numbers.
Every puzzle has exactly one answer
Numalo generates each puzzle on your device and checks it before handing it to you, so there is always precisely one way to finish it. You never need to guess, and you will never be told a correct grid is wrong.
What is free, and what the unlock includes
Free, forever: two puzzles a day (three at weekends), the daily challenge, two hints per puzzle type per day, all six puzzle types on Easy and Medium difficulty, statistics, streaks and achievements.
Numalo Unlimited is a single payment that never renews. It adds unlimited puzzles every day, unlimited hints, the themed Number Sequence categories, and printable PDF puzzle sheets. Family Sharing is enabled, so one purchase covers your Apple Family group.
Restoring a purchase
New phone, or reinstalled the app? Open More → Numalo Unlimited and tap Restore Purchases. That asks Apple what you already own, so make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on. If you bought it through Family Sharing, the organiser's purchase needs to be shared with your group.
Common questions
My progress has not appeared on my other device
Sync uses your own iCloud. Check that iCloud Drive is switched on in Settings on both devices, that both are signed into the same Apple Account, and that both have been opened at least once while online. Sync happens when the app opens.
I lost my streak
A streak continues as long as you finish at least one puzzle each day. If you miss a day it resets. Nothing is lost apart from the count itself.
There is no sound
Check the sound toggle in Settings inside the app, and check your device is not muted. Numalo plays effects through the media volume.
Can I print the puzzles?
Yes, with Numalo Unlimited. The printable sheet is laid out as a four-page paper you can send to any AirPrint printer or save as a PDF.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app to remove everything stored on the device. To remove synced data as well, delete Numalo's data from iCloud in your device settings.
