Arcadalo privacy policy

Last updated 5 September 2026

Arcadalo does not collect your personal data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no accounts and no third-party code of any kind. It has no server, and it makes no network requests of its own. Your high scores and settings are written to your own device and stay there.

Who operates Arcadalo

Arcadalo is an independent iPhone game made by Chris Hardy, trading as Chardie, in Manchester, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR, the data controller is Chris Hardy. You can reach us at contact@chardie.co.uk.

What we collect

Nothing. Specifically, none of the following is collected, transmitted or seen by us: your name, email address or any other identifier; your location; device identifiers such as an advertising ID; your scores, statistics or settings; or any analytics, telemetry or crash reports. The app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising libraries, and no third-party code at all. It is built entirely on frameworks Apple ships with iOS. There is no account system, no sign-up, no login and no Arcadalo server for the app to talk to.

What stays on your device

The app saves the following locally, using Apple's standard on-device storage:

  • Your high score and play count for each game.
  • Your top three runs for each game, including the initials you type in if you choose to.
  • Which milestones you've completed and which colour palettes you've unlocked.
  • The number of days you've opened the app, as a plain count.
  • How many free trial runs you've used on each premium game.
  • Your sound and haptics preferences, and whether you've seen the intro.
  • A flag recording that you bought the in-app unlock.

None of this is sent anywhere. If you delete the app, all of it is deleted with it, and we have no copy to give you or to erase.

Game Center

Arcadalo uses Apple Game Center, Apple's own service, for optional leaderboards and achievements. If you're signed in, the app submits your score for a game to a leaderboard and reports achievements you earn. That data goes to Apple, not to us. We never see, store, or have any way to look up your Game Center identity. Decline the sign-in prompt, or sign out in iOS Settings, and the app works exactly the same; every score is still kept on your device. Apple's handling of Game Center data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

The in-app purchase

Arcadalo is free to download. There is a single optional in-app purchase: a one-time, non-consumable unlock that opens the seven games that aren't already free. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, no in-app currency and no other paid product. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. The app uses Apple's StoreKit framework, which asks Apple whether your Apple Account is entitled to the product. The only thing Arcadalo records as a result is a yes/no flag on your device.

Sharing a score

When you tap Share after a run, the app draws a picture of your score and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. What happens next is entirely your choice. Nothing is uploaded by Arcadalo, and the image contains only your score, the game's name and the app's name: no link, no identifier, nothing about you.

Children

Arcadalo is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It contains no gambling, no simulated gambling, no betting, no loot boxes and no in-app currency, and it has no chat, no user-generated content and no web browser. Because we collect no data at all, we collect none from children either.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port or delete the personal data we hold about you. As we hold none, almost any request will be answered "there is nothing on file." The one exception is an email you've sent us: ask us to delete it and we will. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
